ANGEL ROBOTICS Co., Ltd. Expands into Southeast Asia Through Vietnam Distribution Network
[Edaily Reporter Shin Yeong-bin ] Domestic robotics companies are successively expanding their business footprint in overseas markets such as China, Japan, and Southeast Asia. With local pilot projects, exports, and the establishment of distribution networks continuing, the overseas commercialization of “K-Robots” appears to be gaining momentum.
According to the robotics industry on the 21st, ROBOTIS(108490)was the only South Korean humanoid robot company to participate in the “2026 World Robot Conference (WRC 2026),” held in Beijing, China, from the 19th to the 23rd. The WRC is an event that showcases the technology and products of China’s robotics industry all in one place. Madison Huang, Senior Director at ROBOTIS—the eldest daughter of NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and a key figure in the company’s robotics division—also visited the ROBOTIS booth. Director Huang reportedly showed interest in the AI Sapiens and the robotic hand, among other products. The two sides discussed future technology collaboration and joint projects.
In Japan, South Korean autonomous robot startup Newbility is launching a pilot program for food delivery in urban areas. From the 24th of this month through the 30th of next month, Newbility will conduct a pilot project using autonomous delivery robots in Tokyo’s Shibuya Ward, in collaboration with the Japanese food delivery platform Demae-kan and others.
The pilot area is near Sasazuka Station on the Keio Line. The robots will deliver food from establishments such as Doutor Coffee and the curry shop C&C—located within commercial facilities operated by the Keio Railway Group—to nearby customers. The goal is to assess the feasibility of operating robots in urban areas and identify any potential issues that may arise during the delivery process. Newbility’s Yogiyo delivery robot “Newbi” (Photo: Newbility) NUON has accumulated experience in the delivery robot business in South Korea, the United States, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and other countries. Through this pilot, the company aims to establish connections with major Japanese delivery platforms and local governments, while also testing the feasibility of entering Japan’s last-mile delivery market.
Tesolo, a company specializing in robotic hands, is expanding its overseas markets through component exports. Tesolo has secured clients primarily in the U.S., Japan, and China, and has exported robotic hands to 19 countries to date. It is reported that its overseas sales have recently surpassed its domestic sales.
ANGEL ROBOTICS Co., Ltd.(455900), a wearable robotics company, is also accelerating its push into the Southeast Asian market. It recently completed the registration of its gait rehabilitation robot in Vietnam and established a cooperative framework with a local distribution partner. By laying the groundwork for local operations—from hospital adoption to medical staff training and after-sales support—the company has expanded its overseas sales channels.
Industry observers note that the approach of domestic robotics companies to overseas expansion is shifting away from past practices—such as participating in trade shows or conducting technology demonstrations—toward practical business stages, including on-site validation, exports, and the establishment of distribution networks.
A ROBOTIS representative expressed confidence, stating, “We will establish ourselves as the standard platform within the global humanoid research ecosystem by leveraging our advantages in platform openness and actuator quality.”
