[E-Daily Reporter Park Jung-Soo ] CP System Co., Ltd. ( CP SYSTEM(413630)), a company specializing in cable chains for high-tech industries, is moving forward with the construction of a second factory to meet growing demand from Chonbang industries such as semiconductors and robotics. CP SYSTEM announced on the 25th that it has decided to acquire land and buildings located in Gijang County, Busan, for a total of 7.1 billion won. This investment is intended to meet growing demand from key Chonbang industries—such as robotics, semiconductors, and rechargeable batteries—as well as to accommodate an increase in global orders. The company plans to build its second factory on a site comprising 9,096 square meters of land and a 543.5-square-meter building. Construction is expected to take approximately six months, with completion targeted for the first half of 2027; once operational, the total production capacity (CAPA) is projected to increase to about three times the current level. The second plant will be located immediately adjacent to the existing first plant, enabling the integration of production and logistics systems. CP SYSTEM plans to enhance operational efficiency through the consolidation of production hubs while flexibly responding to increased orders and delivery deadlines. The expansion is driven by sales growth of the ultra-clean cable chain “G-Clean Chain” and increasing new demand for “RoboWay,” a cable protection solution for robots. The company explains that as its customer base has expanded from semiconductors, displays, and rechargeable batteries to include robots, orders for its key products have exceeded existing production capacity. G-Clean Chain is a product that has obtained ISO Class 1 certification in its as-is state and is supplied to high-cleanliness production environments such as semiconductors, displays, and rechargeable batteries. As the automation and sophistication of manufacturing processes advance, the application of high-cleanliness cable chains for manufacturing and transport equipment is increasing, driving growth in related sales. Roboway is also being cultivated as a new growth engine. Developed to reliably protect cables even during the complex and repetitive movements of robots, the company expects its applications to expand alongside the growth of the robotics market. The expansion of global semiconductor capital expenditures is also cited as a factor driving increased demand. As major domestic and international semiconductor companies—including SamsungElectronics, SK hynix, TSMC, and CXMT—continue to expand their production facilities, the company forecasts that demand for G-CleanChain, used in manufacturing and transport equipment, will also rise. Applications are also expanding in high-tech manufacturing sectors, such as Foxconn and Tesla. Financial performance is also showing a growth trend. CP SYSTEM’s revenue for the second quarter of this year reached 6.8 billion won, a 31.6% increase compared to the same period last year. Operating profit for the same period rose 166% to 1.9 billion won. Growth in high-value-added products for advanced industries such as semiconductors, along with the expansion of global sales, drove this financial growth. A CP SYSTEM official stated, “Demand from key downstream industries, such as semiconductors and robotics, is growing rapidly, centered on G-CleanChain and RoboWay,” adding, “We will enhance production efficiency and supply responsiveness through the construction of our second plant and actively secure business opportunities arising from expanded capital investment in high-tech industries both domestically and internationally.”
