[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyung-il ] #Hanwha Machinery & Service Holdings, newly established following a spin-off from Hanwha(000880), is hitting the daily price limit on its first day of relisting. This is believed to be driven by investor sentiment fueled by expectations of a revaluation of the company’s value following the separation of its tech and lifestyle businesses into separate entities.

According to MP Doctor on the 25th, as of 10:11 a.m., Hanwha Machinery & Service Holdings is trading at 13,000 won, up 30% from its reference price. The stock rose to the daily price limit early in the session and has maintained that level ever since.

Hanwha Machinery & Service Holdings, a newly established entity created through Hanwha’s spin-off of its Tech and Life businesses, was relisted on the KOSPI today. It oversees Tech affiliates such as Hanwha Vision, Hanwha Semitek, Hanwha Momentum, and Hanwha Robotics, as well as Life affiliates including HANWHA GALLERIA, Hanwha Hotels & Resorts, and Ourhome.

The Tech division operates businesses in semiconductors, rechargeable batteries, robotics, and video surveillance, while the Life division operates businesses in retail, hotels, and food service. The newly established holding company is responsible for managing equity stakes in these affiliates and making new investments.

It is interpreted that the stock price reflects expectations that this spin-off—which separates Hanwha’s core businesses (defense, shipbuilding, offshore, energy, and finance) from its TechL and Life businesses—will allow for a clearer assessment of the value of each business segment. On the same day, Hanwha, the surviving entity, is also showing strong gains on its first day of trading under the new listing.
