Recently, a post titled “3.7 Billion Won Quietly Withdrawn from Shin Min-ah’s Bank Account Over 15 Years” appeared on online communities and social media platforms (SNS). The post included comments from Mr. A, an official at a charitable foundation. Mr. A shared Shin Min-ah’s heartwarming story, saying, “At first, I thought it was a mistaken deposit,” and added, “Starting in 2009, large sums were deposited every month, and it turned out to be Shin Min-ah.” He continued, “She asked that I never reveal this and requested that the funds be used for the medical treatment of burn patients and study rooms for children from low-income families,” adding, “Over the course of 15 years, she has quietly donated more than 3.7 billion won. She is truly an angel.” It remains unclear which foundation the person referred to as “A” in the post is affiliated with, or how the post spread. However, Shin Min-ah is widely recognized as one of the entertainment industry’s leading philanthropists, having donated over 4 billion won since her debut. She has been consistently donating to the Burn Foundation since 2015 to ensure burn patients can receive treatment, and she has exerted a positive influence by making donations whenever the nation faces difficult times, such as wildfires, flood damage, and the spread of COVID-19. She has also maintained a steady commitment to supporting vulnerable groups, and in recognition of these contributions, she was even awarded the Presidential Citation. Notably, upon marrying Kim Woo-bin, she donated 300 million won on their wedding day, setting an example as a “charitable couple.” Meanwhile, in a previous interview, Shin Min-ah shared her thoughts on philanthropy, saying, “When I first started donating, I thought good deeds should be done in secret, but I heard that when influential people donate, many others follow suit. I believe it’s right for those who are financially secure to help those in difficult and trying situations,” adding, “I hope even just one person will be inspired to think positively.” Shin Min-a is set to make her acting comeback through *The Remarried Empress*, which premieres on Disney+ on November 4.
