Boy group TNX (Choi Tae-hoon, Jang Hyun-soo, Cheon Jun-hyuk, Eun-hwi, Oh Seong-jun) has returned with the determination to firmly establish themselves as “talented idols.” TNX, who recently met with Edaily at the P-Nation headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, emphasized, “All five members will take the music show stage holding handheld microphones to deliver high-intensity performances and vibrant live vocals.” The group has made a comeback with a digital single featuring their new song “Die Another Day.” This marks their return to promotional activities seven months after releasing the single “CALL ME BACK” last January. “Die Another Day” is an alternative pop track featuring a powerful band sound. The lyrics convey the determination to “never give up, even when facing the end of life, and to live fiercely once again.” Oh Seong-jun (Photo: P Nation)Eun-hwi (Photo: P Nation)TNX has also woven into their new song the anxieties they’ve felt while living as K-pop idols—constantly having to prove their worth in a fiercely competitive environment. TNX’s story resonates deeply with the struggles of young people living in this era. Cheon Jun-hyuk said, “Since our debut, we’ve taken on various concepts and shown you different sides of ourselves, but at the same time, we’ve also wondered, ‘What is our unique style?’ and ‘What are our team’s strengths?’” He added, “Although we have our worries and fears, we’ve poured our determination to keep moving forward based on the experience we’ve accumulated so far into this song.” Eun-hwi emphasized, “I felt the sound perfectly matched our personality, and since it’s a song that pours out the worries I’ve felt during our promotions, it resonated deeply with me.” He added, “It’s a song I’m particularly fond of because it’s not a made-up story—it’s about the emotions and struggles we’ve actually experienced.” Choi Tae-hoon and Oh Seong-jun noted, “Since the lyrics candidly reveal even the moments when we experienced pain, we were worried that fans who saw the teaser content might feel upset.” They emphasized, “We hope fans understand that this song is a declaration that we’re ‘openly sharing our struggles and making a fresh start.’” Cheon Jun-hyuk (Photo: P-Nation)Jang Hyun-soo (Photo: P-Nation)Choi Tae-hoon (Photo: P-Nation)◇Joining Forces with Ryan Jeon… “We’ll Show Our True Worth” This new song holds special significance as it is the first collaboration with hit producer Ryan Jeon, who recently joined their agency, P-Nation, and with whom they worked closely from the planning stage. Eun-hwi, who contributed to the lyrics and composition, said, “He felt more like an older brother than a producer. I received a lot of help not only with the music but also with managing my mental state.” Oh Seong-jun added, “His words of encouragement—‘Confidence and momentum are key’—gave me great strength,” noting, “Thanks to that, I was able to approach the music video and album cover shoots with a much more intense gaze than before.” Cheon Jun-hyuk reflected, “He encouraged us by saying, ‘Let’s bring out what we haven’t shown yet,’ and made an effort to draw out each of our individual personalities, skills, and potential.” Choi Tae-hoon said, “We also talked about my personal struggles, and it was helpful that they provided solutions tailored to my situation,” while Jang Hyun-soo expressed his gratitude, saying, “During a time when my self-esteem was low, they pointed out my strengths that I hadn’t realized I had, which helped me regain my confidence.” (Photo courtesy of P Nation)
TNX also underwent an evaluation of their live performance skills by singer PSY, the head of P Nation. The members said in unison, “CEO Psy gave us a boost by supporting our mindset of ‘let’s really show off our live skills,’” adding, “We believe the quality of a live performance depends on how much time we put into practice. Since practicing until dawn was the norm for us, we’re brimming with confidence.” TNX officially debuted in 2022 after appearing on the SBS audition program “Loud.” Now in their fifth year since debut, this comeback marks a crucial turning point that will shape their future path. Eun-hwi said, “TNX is like a hidden gem that many people haven’t discovered yet,” adding, “I want to let everyone know that we’re a group that shines brightest when we’re on stage.” Cheon Jun-hyuk expressed his determination, saying, “We’ll work hard so that even our hidden gems—songs that haven’t yet come to the forefront—can receive the recognition they deserve.” TNX mentioned that their goals for the second half of the year include holding their first-ever fan concert and performing at year-end award shows. They asked for interest and support, saying, “When you watch our comeback stage, you’ll feel our sincerity and passion.”
