INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD. Partners with Japan's FORUM8 to Target the Driving Simulator Market
- Expanding the Japanese Driving Education Simulator Business Based on a 17-Year Partnership
- Seeking to secure local customers and pursue joint contracts by beginning to supply demonstration equipment
[Edaily Reporter KIM JI-WAN ] INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD.(274400) is partnering with FORUM8, a Japanese engineering VR and 3D software company, to expand into the Japanese driving simulator market.
INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD. announced on the 11th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with FORUM8 Co., Ltd. on the 1st to collaborate on the driving simulator business for driver training.
FORUM8 is a Japanese company specializing in VR and 3D software technologies for the engineering sector; it is also known as an official sponsor of the World Rally Championship (WRC) and the main title partner of Rally Japan.
The core of this agreement is to combine INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD.’s driving simulator development capabilities, built up over the past 26 years, with FORUM8’s local sales and customer support network in Japan. The two companies plan to establish a joint business framework targeting the Japanese market that goes beyond simple equipment sales—encompassing product localization, customer acquisition, business proposals, and participation in bids.
First, the two companies will collaborate on developing simulators and improving their performance to meet the needs of the Japanese driver education environment and customers. They will use local demonstration equipment to verify the feasibility of their products and, based on this, expand sales activities targeting potential customers and the identification of new projects.
They have also clearly defined their respective roles.
INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD. will be responsible for the design, production, and quality control of driving training simulators. It will manufacture and supply demonstration units in accordance with specifications agreed upon by both companies and provide the technical documentation necessary for installation, operation, and maintenance. In addition to conducting product training and providing technical support to FORUM8 staff, INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD. will also drive product improvements by incorporating requirements gathered from the Japanese market.
FORUM8 will be responsible for conducting market research and identifying business opportunities by leveraging its local customer network. The company plans to introduce and demonstrate products to potential customers in Japan, as well as handle business proposals and negotiations. Customer requirements and market feedback gathered in the field will be shared with INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD. to inform the development of locally tailored products and business models.
Based on this collaboration, the two companies plan to pursue joint proposals and secure projects in the future.
The project will begin with the supply of demonstration equipment. FORUM8 has already placed an advance order for demonstration equipment to evaluate the product’s performance and market viability in the Japanese market. INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD. plans to manufacture and supply this equipment in accordance with the agreed-upon specifications and schedule.
The demonstration equipment will be used for product validation and demonstrations targeting local customers in Japan. Through this process, the two companies plan to confirm actual business potential and customer demand, and then gradually expand supply volumes and the scope of cooperation based on order status and market response.
This MOU is also significant in that it translates the long-standing cooperative relationship between the two companies into concrete business results in the Japanese market.
The partnership between INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD. and FORUM8 began in 2009. Over the past 17 years, the two companies have collaborated in the fields of driving simulators and motion systems, jointly executing various overseas projects—including the construction of high-performance research simulators at Japanese universities and for RIOH (Research Institute of Highway), a road transportation research institute under China’s Ministry of Transport.
Through this agreement, the two companies have moved beyond their previous project-based collaboration to further solidify their product supply, sales, and local support systems targeting the Japanese market.
Cho Jun-hee, CEO of INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD., stated, “We have worked together on various projects with FORUM8 for 17 years, confirming each other’s technical capabilities and business expertise,” adding, “This agreement will serve as an opportunity to expand our already proven partnership into tangible business results in the Japanese market.”
CEO Cho continued, “By combining INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD.’s simulator technology with FORUM8’s local network, we will proceed step by step—from validating demonstration equipment to securing initial customers, and eventually to mass production and expanded supply.” He added, “Based on the business experience gained in Japan, we plan to further expand our entry into other overseas markets.”
INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD.’s strategy is to develop this collaboration into a long-term business venture that goes beyond mere equipment exports to encompass local market analysis, product localization, and joint sales efforts. The company plans to establish a stable business foundation in Japan and use it as a springboard for expansion into global markets.
