[Edaily Reporter KIM JI-WAN ] Golf tech company VC Inc.(365900)is taking steps to enhance shareholder value through a share buyback. Following its recent return to profitability, interest in the company’s future growth is mounting as new business initiatives—including the overseas expansion of its APL (Auto Pin Location) technology, the expansion of its ODM (Original Design Manufacturing) business, and the launch of smart glasses—are coming to fruition one after another.

VC Inc. announced on the 14th that it had decided to acquire approximately 1 billion won worth of its own shares. The company plans to cancel all of the repurchased shares within the next year.

VC Inc. CEO Kim Jun-oh Acquires 22,000 Shares of Company Stock… “Strengthening Responsible Management and Confidence in Global Growth”

This decision is noteworthy as it comes after VC Inc. successfully returned to profitability in the second quarter of 2026. Given that the company is proceeding with the purchase and cancellation of treasury stock amid a recovery in earnings, this move can be interpreted as a sign of the company’s confidence in its potential for future business expansion and improved profitability.

VC Inc.’s mid- to long-term growth drivers are centered on the overseas expansion of APL, its ODM business, and smart glasses.

APL is a technology that detects the actual location of the hole on a golf course green and transmits this information in real time to golf-related devices such as rangefinders and cart displays. Following the successful installation of APL primarily at domestic golf courses, VC Inc. is now expanding its service reach to overseas markets.

In Japan, the company will launch its APL service on September 15, utilizing real-time pin position data provided by Technocraft, a leading player in the local golf course management system market. In the U.S., V.C. is also conducting a proof of concept (PoC) at major golf courses near Los Angeles. If the PoC is successfully completed, the company is expected to establish a foothold for business expansion in the U.S., the world’s largest golf market.

Overseas ODM is cited as the business driver expected to lead short-term earnings improvement. VC Inc. began generating new revenue from its ODM division in 2026 and is reported to have secured a significant portion of its supply volume for 2027. The company aims to maintain an operating profit trend in 2027, building on this year’s performance, driven by expanded ODM sales.

The company is also pushing forward with the expansion of new product lines.

VC Inc. explained, “We are developing ‘Golf Smart Glasses’ with a target launch in the second half of this year,” adding, “This product is characterized by the integration of AI technology with the golf course data and distance-measuring algorithms accumulated through our VoiceCaddie business.”

The company added, “We plan to implement two-way functionality that allows users to request information or use services via voice commands, as well as deep learning-based interactive AI voice guidance technology,” and continued, “Through this, we envision providing a hands-free golf environment where users can access visual and audio information without having to manually operate a separate device during a round.”
