[Edaily Reporter YU JIN-HEE ] Huino, an innovative AI-based digital healthcare company, has cleared the technological evaluation threshold and set sail toward a KOSDAQ listing under the technology exception program. The company plans to accelerate the process of applying for a preliminary listing review by highlighting the commercial viability of its long-term ECG analysis solution integrated with wearable medical devices.

Huino announced on the 14th that it has received an “A” rating from one and a “BBB” rating from another of the two specialized technology evaluation agencies designated by the Korea Exchange (KRX), thereby fulfilling all criteria for a technology-based special listing. Accordingly, following close consultation with its lead underwriter, the company will begin its full-scale initial public offering (IPO) process, including the application for a preliminary listing review with the exchange.

The core area where Huino demonstrated high technological capability in this evaluation is ECG-based diagnosis and patient monitoring. Typically, arrhythmias that occur intermittently are difficult to detect through an ECG test lasting only a few minutes, which is usually conducted during a hospital visit. This is why technology capable of recording and analyzing biological signals over the long term during a patient’s daily life is required.

To address this unmet need in the diagnostic field, Huino introduced “MEMO CARE,” a long-term ECG analysis solution that integrates AI and wearable technology, and “MEMOCUE,” a real-time monitoring system. MEMO CARE uses an AI engine to precisely analyze big data from ECGs continuously recorded for up to 14 days while patients wear a patch on their chest during daily activities.

It assists medical staff in the rapid diagnosis of arrhythmias and clinical decision-making and has been adopted by major tertiary hospitals, clinics, and medical offices across Korea. MEMOCUE, a monitoring solution designed exclusively for inpatient wards, is also gaining traction as a system that detects changes in patients’ ECGs and vital signs in real time and alerts medical staff.

The company’s competitive edge stems from its independently developed high-precision AI analysis capabilities and the safety of its medical device design. While it identifies abnormal signals in ECG waveforms to reduce the interpretation burden on medical staff, it has also ensured clinical safety by equipping its patch-type devices with a “Defib-proof” feature that withstands defibrillation shocks delivered during emergencies.

Since its founding, Huino has secured substantial growth capital by attracting cumulative investments totaling 80 billion won from institutional investors. Traditional pharmaceutical company Yuhan(000100), which has joined as a strategic investor (SI), holds exclusive domestic distribution rights and supports the expansion of the distribution network, serving as a strong ally.

Efforts to expand into overseas markets are also bearing fruit. Memo Care has obtained medical device certification from Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and has signed an exclusive sales agreement with a local specialized distribution partner covering the entire country. Through this, the company has begun commercialization efforts to secure a leading position in the outpatient Holter ECG market at local hospitals and clinics.

As a next-generation growth engine, the company is preparing “Vital-PICASO,” an AI-based Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) that proactively predicts clinical abnormalities in hospitalized patients. The plan is to expand its existing diagnosis-focused business into the area of early prediction of severe deterioration, thereby establishing itself as a comprehensive in-hospital patient management platform provider.

Gil Young-jun, CEO of Huino, stated, “Passing this technology evaluation is a significant achievement that objectively validates the proprietary AI diagnostic capabilities and business scalability we have accumulated over the years.” He added, “We will proceed smoothly with the preliminary review for our initial public offering (IPO) and aggressively increase our market penetration in domestic and international healthcare settings by leveraging our product competitiveness.”
