[E-Daily Starin KIM HYUNSIK Reporter] Ko Ji-yong, a former member of the group Sechs Kies, has taken legal action against his ex-wife, family medicine specialist Heo Yang-im.

According to Ko Ji-yong’s agency, Mountain Movement Story, on the 17th, Ko filed a motion with the court the previous day seeking a preliminary injunction against Heo Yang-im to prevent her from interfering with his visitation rights and to prohibit her from posting photos and videos of their child.
Ko Ji-yong and Heo Yang-im married in 2013 and had a son the following year. Ko Ji-yong belatedly revealed last July that he had divorced two years prior. It was reported that Heo Yang-im was granted custody.
In a statement, Ko Ji-yong claimed that since the divorce, he had been in conflict with Heo Yang-im over child support payments and visitation rights. He also raised concerns about Heo Yang-im using photos of their minor son for hospital promotional purposes.
Ko Ji-yong explained, “I sent a certified letter requesting that my ex-wife allow me to pay the outstanding child support in installments, but on the 5th, she filed a petition for a preliminary injunction and a petition for a ruling on visitation rights, so I could no longer overlook the situation.” He added that his health had deteriorated immediately after the divorce, requiring him to be hospitalized multiple times, stating, “I could no longer tolerate her refusal to engage in dialogue and her decision to proceed with litigation against someone who is striving to recover and return to society.”
His agency explained, “We determined that it was no longer possible to resolve the matter through dialogue, as his ex-wife’s side had cut off Ko Ji-yong’s livelihood through a provisional attachment and filed a lawsuit.” The agency added, “Ko Ji-yong has been fulfilling his child support obligations since last month.”
