[E-Daily Reporter NA EUN-KYUNG ] PharmaResearch(214450)has launched “Gyjuran,” an injectable medical device that combines polynucleotides (PN) and hyaluronic acid (HA), as part of its efforts to expand its aesthetic product lineup.

PharmaResearch announced on the 4th that it has officially launched “Gyjuran,” a Class 4 medical device designed to temporarily improve fine lines at the outer corners of the eyes in adults.

ZaiJuran is a tissue-regenerating biomaterial that has received product approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. It is an injectable medical device designed as a composite of PN and HA—biocompatible substances extracted using “DOT” (DNA Optimizing Technology), PharmaResearch’s proprietary patented purification technology.

The main ingredient, PN, is a polymer derived from salmon DNA that is used for the physical restoration of skin tissue. HA is a substance that attracts and retains moisture, playing a role in skin hydration and maintaining moisture within the tissue.

ZaiJuran is designed to physically repair skin tissue based on the high moisture-binding affinity of these two components. A key feature is that it was developed specifically for application to localized areas requiring delicate treatment, such as fine lines at the outer corners of the eyes.

This is not the first time PharmaResearch has introduced a medical device combining PN and HA. Previously, in July 2021, the company obtained product approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) for “Rejuran HB Plus,” a PN-HA composite product, and launched it in October of the same year. Rejuran HB Plus is a product that adds HA and lidocaine—a local anesthetic—to the existing single-ingredient PN product. It is designed to provide moisturizing effects through HA while reducing pain during injection with lidocaine. This product was also approved for the purpose of improving fine lines at the outer corners of the eyes in adults.

With the launch of ZaiJuran, PharmaResearch plans to further segment its existing PN-based product line and expand the range of options available to medical professionals based on treatment objectives and target areas.

In the domestic skin booster market, a variety of products with different ingredients are available, including PN-based Rejuran, HA-based “ Hugel, Inc.(145020) ” (“Byrizen”), and polylactic acid (PDLLA)-based “Juvelook.” Recently, competition among products has intensified with the emergence of products like “Elavie Litou” from L&C BIO(290650), which utilizes human-derived extracellular matrix (ECM).

PharmaResearch is broadening the range of product choices in the market by adding composite formulations based on its existing PN raw material purification technology for Rejuran. In particular, the company manufactures and sells pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetics, and dietary supplements using polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) and PN secured through its DOT technology. Its flagship products include “Rejuran,” a medical device for skin tissue repair; “Conjuran,” a medical device for intra-articular injection; and “Rejuviel,” an HA filler.

A PharmaResearch official stated, “ZaiJuran is a product that integrates our proven raw material purification capabilities and formulation technology, optimized for delicate tissue repair in localized areas,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen our product development capabilities to expand the range of treatment options trusted by both medical professionals and patients.”
