[E-Daily Reporter Shin Yeong-bin ] Hancom WITH(054920)is embarking on the development of technology that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze the content and context of documents and automatically classify them by security level. In line with the transition to the National Network Security Framework (N2SF), the company plans to target the public sector market with a security solution that integrates data identification, classification, and encryption.

Hancom WITH announced on the 23rd that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Connector, an AI decision-making infrastructure company, to jointly develop an AI-based intelligent automatic document classification product.

The two companies will combine Hancom WITH’s Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) and encryption technologies with Connector’s AI data classification engine, “Classification Studio.” They plan to develop a product that classifies documents according to the N2SF’s Confidential (C), Sensitive (S), and Open (O) classification system and links them to the necessary security measures.

The key is to have AI analyze the content and context of unstructured documents, rather than having Saramin manually review each document or classify them based solely on predetermined keywords. The AI compares regulatory requirements with document content to propose C, S, or O classifications along with the rationale for those classifications, and continuously manages changes in classifications as data or the work environment evolves.

Hancom WITH’s DSPM technology identifies data assets within an organization and assesses their security status. By integrating this with “Hancom xDB,” a data encryption solution that utilizes post-quantum cryptography (PQC) technology, the system supports the protection of critical data.

The two companies plan to combine this with Connector’s AI classification technology to establish a management system that encompasses data discovery, security classification, risk identification, and encryption. The focus is on reducing misclassifications that can occur with existing keyword- and rule-based methods and applying security measures to individual documents more swiftly.

This collaboration was initiated in response to the anticipated increase in demand for data classification among public institutions following the implementation of N2SF. The two companies plan to enhance product features in accordance with relevant security guidelines and jointly pursue proposals, sales, marketing, and proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives targeting public institutions.
