[E-Daily Reporter JAEMIN SONG ] “AI-DOL,” a five-member girl group created by LGELECTRONICS specifically to market its washer-dryers, has kicked off its full-scale activities with appearances on music shows and the release of a digital single.

Music Core” on the 19th. They are also scheduled to appear on ENA’s “K-Pop Up Chart Show” on the 29th.
AI-DOL is a group conceived and produced by LGELECTRONICS—not a talent agency—to promote its all-in-one washer-dryer, the “AI Wash Combo.” Although the group’s name has led to misunderstandings that they are virtual idols, the members consist of individuals with actual idol experience or those who were part of a debut trainee group.
The group consists of five members: leader Lee Yeon, Moa, Seonghyun, Heejae, and Su-a. Each member symbolizes a key feature or function of the AI Wash Combo, such as its all-in-one large capacity, AI Time Sensing, AI washing and drying, minimalist flat design, and Mini Wash.

LGELECTRONICS plans to offer “I WASH” as a completion tone for LG UP washing machines next month. Users can download the tone via the LG ThinQ app and apply it to compatible washing machines. This goes beyond simply releasing the advertising song as a digital track—it directly links it to actual product features.
For AI-DOL’s debut and promotional activities, LGELECTRONICS adopted promotional methods typical of the entertainment industry rather than standard product advertising. Following the release of a teaser video last July, the company held a dance challenge in August and, toward the end of that month, revealed the group’s identity and the background of the project through a promotional video.

(Photo: LGELECTRONICS Newsroom) “I Wash” was partially unveiled via the official Instagram account prior to its official release and topped Instagram’s “Trending Audio” chart last month. The dance video also ranked fourth on the Reels popularity chart. The dance challenge garnered online attention as singer Choi Ye-na, comedian Lee Seon-min, and choreographer Hyo-jin Choi participated.
LGELECTRONICS plans to expand its promotional activities starting next month through popular YouTube channels and magazine interviews. The company is also considering hosting offline events depending on consumer response and whether a fanbase forms.
Oh Seong-taek, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Communications for LGELECTRONICS Korea, said, “Consumer response and interest have been more enthusiastic than expected since the teaser video was released, so we decided to expand the scope and duration of our activities.” He added, “If a fanbase is established, we will consider various offline events to meet fans’ expectations.”
