AprilBio Co.,Ltd. announced on the 29th that it has recruited Vice President Hwang, a new drug development expert and medical doctor (M.D.).
Vice President Hwang completed her residency at Asan Medical Center in Seoul and Samsung Medical Center in Seoul, where she worked as a board-certified physician. She has spent approximately 20 years in medical and new drug development roles at global pharmaceutical companies—including MSD, Gilead Sciences, and Amgen—as well as at domestic biotech firms.
Most recently, while serving as Korea Development Lead at Amgen, he was responsible for establishing and executing clinical development strategies across various therapeutic areas. He also served as a Medical Monitor for global Phase 3 clinical trial programs.
Previously, at Gilead Sciences, he was responsible for Medical Affairs strategy for the Asia region and for global and Asia-specific projects. At MSD, he handled Medical Affairs strategy, clinical development, and clinical trial operations support.
AprilBio Co.,Ltd. expects Vice President Hwang to contribute to the advancement of its R&D and project management systems, given his extensive experience ranging from new drug development strategy formulation to clinical development, global project management, and communication with regulatory agencies.
In particular, the company plans to leverage Vice President Hwang’s experience and network at global pharmaceutical companies to expand collaboration opportunities with overseas pharmaceutical and biotech firms and actively pursue global partnerships, including technology transfers of its proprietary platforms and pipeline.
