[Edaily Reporter SOYEON KIM ] SAMSUNG SDI CO.,LTD. made its debut at “Data Center World Asia (DCWA) 2026,” held in Singapore on the 29th, showcasing battery solutions for artificial intelligence (AI) data centers.

DCWA is Asia’s largest specialized exhibition for data centers, covering the entire ecosystem from design and construction to operation and management. At this event, SAMSUNG SDI CO.,LTD. set up four exhibition zones—△Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), △Battery Backup Unit (BBU), △Samsung Battery Box (SBB), and △Cell Lineup—to showcase its differentiated battery technology.

A UPS zone was set up in the center of the booth. SAMSUNG SDI CO.,LTD. unveiled a UPS solution that was the first in the world to meet all criteria in a large-scale indoor fire test recently conducted by the global safety certification body UL Solutions. Through this, the company emphasized battery safety optimized for data center environments that require a stable supply of large-scale power.

In the BBU zone, the company exhibited a lineup of cylindrical batteries optimized for emergency power supply in AI data centers, including high-power, high-capacity ternary batteries (21700) featuring a bottom vent design to enhance safety.

Notably, SAMSUNG SDI CO.,LTD. unveiled its cylindrical lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries for the first time at this exhibition. Based on proprietary structural technology, these products increase both output and capacity while enhancing safety.

The SBB Zone also featured prismatic LFP batteries designed for “SBB 2.0,” an integrated energy storage system (ESS) solution. By applying LFP material to SAMSUNG SDI CO.,LTD.’s proprietary prismatic form factor, the company has further enhanced both performance and safety.

During the event, SAMSUNG SDI CO.,LTD. plans to present the current status of its AI data center battery technology development and its product lineup to global customers, and will also participate in a technology conference to unveil next-generation battery solutions.

As power demand in AI data centers surges, the importance of batteries for ensuring a stable power supply and securing emergency power is growing. Accordingly, SAMSUNG SDI CO.,LTD. plans to actively target this market by unveiling battery products tailored specifically for data centers.
