Kbank announced on the 30th that it will introduce the “Small Business Owner Specialized Credit Assessment” (SCB) for its sole proprietor credit loan products, “Business Owner Credit Loan” and “Business Owner Credit Loan Refinancing.”
SCB is a credit assessment model that takes into account not only financial information but also non-financial data—such as sales, industry type, and commercial district—when reviewing loan applications. By utilizing SCB, small business owners with high growth potential can secure larger loan amounts than before, even if they lack sufficient financial information. Kbank plans to offer loans of up to 300 million won to small business owners assessed as having a high growth rating through SCB. Even small business owners who previously received loans under the existing credit assessment model can secure larger loan amounts through refinancing if SCB evaluates them as having high growth potential. The total annual credit limit for sole proprietor loans using SCB is 150 billion won.
A Kbank official stated, “With the introduction of SCB, we can now assess the growth potential and future repayment capacity of small business owners more precisely,” adding, “We will continue to reduce financial exclusion, provide financial opportunities to more customers, and expand our role in inclusive finance.”
