[Edaily Starin KIM HYUNSIK Reporter] Big Hit Music announced on the 14th that BTS’s fifth studio album, “ARIRANG,” has surpassed 5 billion streams on the global music streaming platform Spotify.

“ARIRANG” is currently recording the highest number of streams among albums released this year. It has been streamed approximately 2 billion more times than the second-place album in this category, Olivia Rodrigo’s third studio album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.”
“Arirang” is an album consisting of a total of 14 tracks, including the title track “SWIM.” On March 20, the day of its release, the album recorded over 110 million streams in a single day.
All tracks on the album, including “No. 29”—which features only the sound of the King Seongdeok Great Bell—have consistently gained popularity, pushing the album’s total streams on Spotify past 200 million. The title track “SWIM” is on the verge of reaching 1 billion streams.
BTS is currently in the midst of the South American leg of their “Arirang” world tour. They drew crowds of approximately 150,000 people at concerts held on the 7th and from the 9th to the 10th (local time) at Estadio San Marcos in Lima, Peru.
