[Edaily Lee So-Hyun Reporter] KakaoTalk’s “Gift” service has introduced a “Curator” feature that turns users’ product recommendations into actual revenue. Any member of the “Gift” service can create a dedicated link for recommended products and share it on platforms such as blogs, YouTube, and Instagram; if a purchase is made through that link, the user can earn a commission based on their performance.

Kakao(035720)announced on the 14th that it had launched the “Gift Curator” feature on KakaoTalk Gift on the 13th.

The Curator feature allows users to introduce KakaoTalk Gift items they wish to recommend on external channels and earn revenue based on the resulting sales. Its key feature is that it transforms the act of recommending products to friends—something users already do regularly—into performance-based earnings.

Any member of KakaoTalk’s “Gift” service can become a Curator. Users simply select a product they wish to recommend from the eligible items, generate a dedicated link, and share it on external channels such as their personal blog, YouTube, or Instagram.

A commission is paid when a purchase made through the shared link meets the revenue eligibility criteria.

On the Curator dashboard, users can view their product recommendation activity and earnings history.

To celebrate the launch of this feature, Kakao is running a promotion offering a total commission rate of 9% through December. The promotion is operated with a limited budget, and the commission rate may change once the budget is exhausted.

Going forward, Kakao plans to gradually expand related features to make it easier for curators to find products to recommend and share them conveniently across multiple channels.

A Kakao spokesperson stated, “We hope that through the ‘Gift Curator’ feature, users will enjoy sharing their tastes and experiences while recommending products, and gain new opportunities to generate income,” adding, “We will continue to enhance the user experience through a variety of features and benefits.”
