[Edaily Reporter Kwon Oh Seok ] KOSDAQ-listed company Sonid(060230)announced on the 14th that it posted steep growth in its semiconductor process materials division during the first half of this year, driven by the recovery of the global semiconductor market and the trend toward domestic production of key materials.

JK Synapse announced that day that its cumulative sales in the semiconductor process materials segment for the first half of this year reached 5.03118 billion won. This figure exceeds 70% of last year’s total annual sales (6.91 billion won).
In particular, second-quarter sales surged by approximately 90% compared to the same period last year (1.58527 billion won), reaching 3.0082 billion won and driving the overall increase in performance.
These strong results are attributed to the trend toward in-house production within the semiconductor supply chain, coupled with a surge in demand for key materials. Analysts note that a significant increase in the supply of etching solutions and stripping solutions—used for cleaning components in semiconductor wafer processing and ultra-precision dry etching equipment—played a key role.
The company expects the growth momentum from the first half to continue into the second half. The supply scale of core materials is projected to expand further as the global semiconductor market rebounds in earnest and major customers’ production line utilization rates recover.
An official from JK Synapse stated, “Our strategy of specializing and segmenting our existing electronic materials business into ‘semiconductor’ and ‘display’ divisions has yielded results,” adding, “Based on our stable production infrastructure and customer network, we will maximize production volume in the second half to achieve record-breaking performance in these sectors this year, while also strengthening R&D for next-generation process materials.”
