[Edaily Reporter Shin Yeong-bin ] SamsungElectronics(005930) The Galaxy S26 Ultra, the Bespoke AI Family Hub refrigerator, and the Odyssey G8 gaming monitor have been named among “The Best Inventions of 2026” by the U.S. newsweekly *Time*.

SamsungElectronics announced on the 16th that three of its products were selected for Time’s “Best Inventions of 2026,” announced on the 15th (local time), in the smartphone, home appliance, and gaming categories, respectively.

Each year, *Time* selects products and ideas that transform everyday life by evaluating criteria such as originality, effectiveness, boldness, and impact, based on recommendations from editors and correspondents worldwide.

In the consumer electronics category, the “Galaxy S26 Ultra” made the list. Time introduced the Galaxy S26 Ultra as a “smartphone focused on privacy” and highlighted its “Privacy Display” feature.

Privacy Display is a feature that makes it difficult to see the screen’s content when viewed from the side. Users can manually set when the feature activates or choose to apply it only to specific content, such as pop-up notifications.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the flagship model of the Galaxy S26 series, which was launched last March. It features Galaxy AI capabilities—such as “Now Nudge,” which understands the user’s situation and intent to suggest relevant information—as well as a 200-megapixel wide-angle camera.

In the home appliance category, the “Bespoke AI Family Hub” refrigerator was selected. Its “AI Vision” feature, which automatically recognizes and manages ingredients using an internal camera, received high praise.

SamsungElectronics first introduced AI Vision to the Family Hub in 2024 and has since continued to refine the feature. Users can check the ingredients inside the refrigerator via the SmartThings app and use the “AI Food Manager” to manage expiration dates and receive personalized recipe recommendations. The front of the unit also features a 32-inch screen.

The “Odyssey G8” was selected in the entertainment and gaming category. This 32-inch gaming monitor is the first of its kind to support 6K resolution.

It supports “Dual Mode,” which switches between 6K/165Hz and 3K/330Hz modes depending on the game type and usage environment. It also adjusts image quality based on game scenes and frame rates using “HDR10+ Gaming.”

Last year, SamsungElectronics also had three products—the Micro RGB TV, The Frame Pro, and The Premiere 5—selected for TIME’s “Best Inventions of the Year.” Starting with the Galaxy Z Flip3 in 2021, other models such as the Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip5, and Neo QLED 8K have also made the list.
