LG H&H announced on the 16th that, in observance of White Cane Day on the 15th, it held an event at the National Seoul School for the Blind in Jongno-gu, Seoul, in collaboration with the Korea Consumer Agency, to provide product safety education and donate supplies to visually impaired students. White Cane Day is a designated day established to raise awareness of the independence and rights of the visually impaired and to increase social interest in their community. The name is derived from the white cane, an essential assistive device that helps visually impaired individuals with their daily activities.

This event was held as part of a project to support the safety of visually impaired individuals in daily life, designed to help them easily access safety information and identify products they use in their daily routines. During the event, students at the National Seoul School for the Blind learned how to check product information using QR codes and Braille tags affixed to household items and how to use them safely. Educational materials, produced as videos featuring audio descriptions, will be made available to schools for the blind nationwide and through online platforms for the visually impaired.

Participating companies, including LG H&H, also produced and distributed reusable Braille tags designed to be attached to household product containers. LG H&H donated goods worth a total of 40 million won, including laundry detergent, fabric softener, conditioner, and body wash.

An LG H&H spokesperson stated, “We have joined forces to help people with visual impairments easily access information about the products they use in their daily lives and use them safely,” adding, “We will continue to pay close attention to our customers’ diverse living environments and carry out social contribution activities that enable everyone to enjoy a more convenient daily life.”
