[Edaily Reporter NA EUN-KYUNG ] EuBiologics Co., Ltd.(206650)reported on the 22nd that Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), visited E-Biologics’ Second Plant in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, to inspect the vaccine production facilities and review the status of global supply.

This visit took place on the occasion of the “2026 World Bio Summit,” co-hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the WHO. Director-General Tedros and officials from the Ministry of Health and Welfare toured key production facilities at EuBiologics Co., Ltd.’s Chuncheon Plant No. 2 (V Plant) and reviewed the supply performance of the oral cholera vaccine as well as plans to enter the international procurement market with new vaccines.

To date, EuBiologics Co., Ltd. has supplied a cumulative total of more than 270 million doses of vaccines to 51 countries worldwide. Notably, in August, its typhoid conjugate vaccine “EuTYPH-C Inj.” passed the WHO Prequalification (PQ) assessment, bringing the total number of products with WHO PQ certification to four, including the company’s three existing cholera vaccines. WHO PQ is a system that evaluates a vaccine’s quality, safety, and efficacy, and is a key requirement for participating in vaccine procurement by international organizations such as UNICEF.

EuBiologics Co., Ltd. plans to expand its international procurement business—which has been built primarily around cholera vaccines—to include typhoid vaccines. The company intends to use the WHO PQ certification for the typhoid vaccine as a springboard to enter the international procurement market and diversify its product portfolio, which has been heavily concentrated on cholera vaccines.

As a follow-up product, the company is developing the 5-valent meningococcal conjugate vaccine “EuNmCV-5.” After completing the development and approval processes for this vaccine, the company intends to pursue WHO PQ certification. If it successfully enters the international procurement market, it will expand its supply portfolio to include meningococcal vaccines, following cholera and typhoid vaccines.
