[Edaily Starin Gim Ga Yeong Reporter] Jang Na-ra of “Good Partner 2” is set to carry on the popularity of “Doctor X.”
The production team of SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama “Good Partner 2,” which premieres on the 26th, has released character stills featuring Cha Eun-kyung (played by Jang Na-ra). “Good Partner 2” is a refreshing divorce drama featuring Cha Eun-kyung, a top lawyer for whom divorce is “second nature,” and Kang Hye-sung (played by Kim Hye-yoon), a seasoned lawyer who is “serious” about divorce, as they become each other’s “good partners.” The story of these lawyers—who choose the best of the second-best options at life’s crossroads, where there are no right answers, even after divorce—is set to deliver thrilling catharsis and resonate deeply with viewers. The series is written by Choi Yu-na, a divorce law specialist, and directed by the stylish and meticulous Seo Min-jeong. Jang Na-ra, returning as Cha Eun-kyung, previously won the 2024 SBS Acting Award for her role in *Good Partner*. In *Good Partner 2*, returning after a two-year hiatus, she will be portrayed as the managing partner of “Reborn Law Firm.” Having reached a turning point in her life following her divorce, Cha Eun-kyung is set to embark on a new journey at “Reborn” to help her clients find a new spring in their lives. In the released photos, Cha Eun-kyung—named “Power Woman of the Year”—captures the viewer’s attention. Having built “Reborn Law Firm,” a one-of-a-kind law firm specializing in divorce cases with a staff of 50, in just three years, Cha Eun-kyung exudes composure and elegance with her smile, embodying the image of a successful firm president. Through the production team, Jang Na-ra shared her thoughts on returning for the second season, saying, “I was grateful for the opportunity to star in a drama that’s getting a second season.” She added, “It was a truly unique experience to meet viewers again as the same character. The character of Cha Eun-kyung was an adventure in itself, but playing her again made me feel a bit more cautious in certain aspects.” The change in “Cha Eun-kyung” that Jang Na-ra highlighted was “empathy.” She said, “Since founding the law firm Reborn, I feel I’ve become much better at empathizing with the deeper stories of my clients. ‘Reborn’ itself is Cha Eun-kyung,” she said, raising anticipation for Cha Eun-kyung’s performance as she embarks on a new beginning as the CEO of “Reborn.” She continued, “I tried to shed as much of the pressure and ambition from the previous season as possible. I also tried to keep a relaxed mindset so that viewers could watch comfortably.” Meanwhile, the currently airing SBS Friday-Saturday drama *Doctor X* features “the crazy girl of the operating room,” who shatters injustice with her genius surgical skills. The drama, which captures the refreshing medical noir of “Dr. X” character Gye Su-jeong (played by Kim Ji-won), is gaining popularity with a viewership rating of 19.5%. Attention is now focused on what story Jang Na-ra will unfold in the new “Good Partner 2” as she takes up the baton. SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama “Good Partner 2” will premiere on Friday, November 20, at 9:50 p.m.
