[Edaily Reporter KIM AH-REUM ] HANILCEMENT has been recognized in a survey of consumers and product experts for its contribution to solving construction site challenges—such as shortening construction time, improving workability, and ensuring consistent construction quality across all seasons—through its technological expertise. HANILCEMENT’s cement division is pursuing product differentiation centered on its specialty cement brand, “HI-CEM.” By offering a product lineup that includes high-strength, slag, masonry, and low-heat cements, the company has addressed on-site demands such as shortening construction schedules, reducing carbon emissions, and improving workability. The Danyang plant has enhanced production management accuracy and safety by using industrial drones equipped with AI software to precisely measure raw material inventory and inspect the interiors of equipment and high-altitude piping that are difficult for workers to access.
The dry mortar brand “Remital” has incorporated smart construction technology into its product development. The “AI-based Mobile Silo System” patent obtained this year features technology where AI adjusts the water-to-mortar mixing ratio in real time based on temperature and humidity and automatically calculates the pumping pressure according to the height of the building being poured. It is designed to reduce quality variations caused by manual operation and maintain stable pouring. The company plans to pursue commercialization in the future to enhance construction convenience.
In the ready-mix concrete sector, the company is addressing seasonal construction challenges with “cold-resistant concrete” and “ultra-workable concrete,” jointly developed with Hanil Industries. Both products received technical performance certification from the Korean Society of Construction Engineering this year. Cold-resistant concrete cures without separate heating equipment and achieves strength levels that meet safety standards even at temperatures as low as -10°C. High-retention concrete maintains its workability for up to three hours even during extreme heat with average temperatures of 35°C, supporting long-distance transport and continuous pouring at large-scale sites.
Jeon Geun-sik, President of HANILCEMENT, stated, “We plan to continue driving quality innovation by simultaneously developing site-specific products and advancing production and construction technologies,” adding, “We will repay the trust placed in us by listening closely to our customers and actively responding to on-site needs.”
