[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyung-il ] SOS LAB Co., Ltd.(464080)announced on the 4th that it will showcase LiDAR for robotics and spatial intelligence solutions at the “2026 RoboWorld” held at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.

At this exhibition, SOS LAB Co., Ltd. is setting out to capture the robotics market by showcasing its technological capabilities, which span from sensor hardware to perception software. The company has set up its own booth to demonstrate the new detection features of its 2D LiDAR “GL-5” and its 3D fixed-mount LiDAR “ML-U190,” and will also unveil a quadruped walking robot equipped with the spatial intelligence platform “SPADI.”

First, the GL-5 2D LiDAR for robotics has been equipped with a new feature called “Independent Mode.” This feature allows users to independently configure up to three detection zones to simultaneously detect objects in multiple directions. The existing “Dependent Mode” is also available. This mode subdivides a single detection zone into up to 15 levels to detect objects with high precision. Customers can choose between the two modes depending on their on-site environment and objectives.

At the exhibition, the company plans to demonstrate the detection process in a real-world manufacturing environment by mounting the GL-5 on a mock-up of a semiconductor wafer transfer robot (OHT). The GL-5 features a field of view expanded from 180 degrees to 270 degrees compared to the previous model, while reducing its size and weight by more than half. Its price has also been lowered to approximately 70% of the previous model’s cost.

On-site response capabilities have also been enhanced. The device is equipped with an “internal logging” feature that records its operational status whenever events occur, such as at set intervals, upon area detection, or in the event of a malfunction. This enables rapid identification of the cause when problems arise on-site. SOS LAB Co., Ltd. plans to begin mass production of the GL-5 in the first quarter of next year.

The company will also showcase the ML-U190, an ultra-wide-angle 3D fixed LiDAR. The ML-U190 is a product specialized for urban autonomous driving environments, featuring a field of view of 190 degrees × 142 degrees. Its size has been reduced to allow for installation inside vehicle components such as headlights or side mirrors. At the booth, the company will demonstrate the point cloud data detected by the LiDAR in real time.

An interactive experience zone will also be set up to demonstrate the performance of the LiDAR signal processing software. Visitors can use a touchscreen to directly compare the results before and after applying the software—including AI-based colorization technology, high-resolution data rendering, glare reduction, and the acquisition of perception data in adverse weather conditions.

Spady, a spatial intelligence platform for physical AI, is another key exhibit. Spady is a platform that reconstructs real-world spaces in 3D based on data collected from multimodal sensors, comprehensively understands the surrounding environment, and supports the execution of optimal actions. It is implemented as an edge DEVICE that can be directly embedded into physical AI hardware, such as robots, ensuring real-time control performance.

Additionally, by integrating a Large Language Model (LLM)-based inference engine, the platform is capable of understanding the current situation and predicting future changes. At the booth, the company will demonstrate a spatial intelligence-based safety patrol platform using a quadruped robot equipped with Spady.

The reason SOS LAB Co., Ltd. emphasizes both LiDAR hardware and software is that the ability to precisely perceive the surrounding environment and translate data into actual actions is becoming increasingly important in the robotics industry. As physical AI spreads beyond manufacturing and logistics to various fields such as safety and services, robot components are now required to possess not only precision, durability, and price competitiveness but also capabilities in sensing, cognition, and the generation of training data.

Consequently, it is becoming increasingly difficult for sensors to secure a competitive edge based solely on measurement performance. There is a growing trend toward the importance of integrated solutions that combine software features such as calibration, diagnostics, and sensor fusion. At this exhibition, SOS LAB Co., Ltd. plans to highlight its technical capabilities to provide both sensor hardware and perception software together and seek collaboration opportunities with domestic and international robotics companies and industry stakeholders.

Hwang Se-eun, Director of SOS LAB Co., Ltd., stated, “In the era of Physical AI, software capabilities—which go beyond precise sensing technology to transform collected data into meaningful information and link it to actual actions—are emerging as a core competitive advantage.” She added, “Through this exhibition, we will showcase our integrated technological capabilities spanning LiDAR hardware and spatial perception software, and seek new partnerships and business opportunities in the robotics market.”

Meanwhile, SOS LAB Co., Ltd. also participated in the “Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) 2026” held in Barcelona, Spain. At the event, SOS LAB Co., Ltd. showcased two smart infrastructure solutions—the LiDAR-based parking guidance solution “LPGS SPOT” and the real-time traffic congestion analysis solution “LCAS QMAP”—and announced its entry into the global smart city market, building on the commercialization experience it has accumulated in South Korea.
