[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] V-ONE TECH CO., LTD.(251630)announced on the 4th that its subsidiary, Syscon Robotics, has secured an order worth approximately 3.4 billion won for a robotic system to automate semiconductor material processing from Company A, a firm specializing in semiconductor components and materials.

The key feature of this contract is the automation—using robots—not only of the process of transporting semiconductor materials to production equipment but also of feeding materials into the processing line before processing begins and retrieving finished products after processing is complete.

Syscon Robotics plans to supply a Machine Tending Robot (MTR) system, which combines an Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) with a robotic arm and a dedicated gripper. Machine tending is a process automation technology in which robots load workpieces into production equipment or retrieve finished products.

The robot to be supplied is designed to navigate autonomously between material storage facilities and machining equipment, feeding raw materials into the equipment prior to machining and retrieving finished products upon completion. This approach automates the entire process, from material storage and transport to feeding into machining equipment and retrieval.

Syscon Robotics will also establish a control system that integrates the management of the robots’ movement and operations. This system dispatches robots based on task priorities and the status of equipment and robots, while adjusting movement paths and work sequences. The company also plans to integrate with the client’s business systems, machining equipment, work orders, and transport results.

In addition, by integrating V-ONE TECH CO., LTD.’s “with AI”-based vision and decision-making technology, the company aims to enhance material location recognition as well as the precision and stability of robotic operations. The plan is to utilize AI technology for location recognition and task support that adapts to changes in the on-site environment.

With this contract win, Syscon Robotics has expanded its business scope from its existing AMR business—which focused on logistics transportation—to the machine tending sector, which handles the loading and unloading of materials at production equipment.

Since the precise location of materials, the sequence of feeding, and the coordination of operations between equipment are critical in semiconductor material processing, precise robot control and stable system operation are essential. In particular, machine tending robots require a higher level of technological integration than conventional logistics automation, as they perform tasks by directly interfacing with production equipment rather than merely transporting materials. Automating repetitive material loading and retrieval tasks is expected to reduce the manual workload on operators and enhance the consistency of process operations.

The company plans to standardize the material handling, robotic arm operations, processing equipment integration, and control technologies secured through this project to expand its scope of application to similar semiconductor material and component processing operations and the precision machining industry in the future.

V-ONE TECH CO., LTD. also plans to expand its business in manufacturing process automation solutions—covering everything from inspection to transport and production equipment operations—by combining its existing inspection and vision-based manufacturing automation technologies with Syscon Robotics’ mobile robot technology.

A Syscon Robotics official stated, “This order is for a machine tending robot project that combines AMRs and robotic arms to automate the loading and unloading of materials in actual production facilities,” adding, “We will combine AI-based vision technology with robotic automation technology and standardize our implementation experience to expand into various precision machining processes.”
