(Photo: SFA Nexel) The company announced on the 12th that the proposal to change its name was finally approved at a recent extraordinary general meeting of shareholders. The company explained that this decision reflects not merely a rebranding but an expansion of its business portfolio and its mid- to long-term growth strategy. CIS has established a strong foothold in the secondary battery electrode process equipment sector by building technological competitiveness. In particular, as new businesses have rapidly expanded since joining the SFA Group, the need to incorporate the group’s identity and future vision into the company name grew, leading to the name change. The new name, SFA Nexel, embodies both the SFA Group’s brand power and its future growth direction. Under the group’s integrated brand strategy, the company plans to present a consistent image to customers, the market, and investors, and to enhance its global brand recognition. SFA Nexel is further enhancing the competitiveness of its existing core business—lithium-ion battery electrode process equipment—while accelerating the development of technologies for next-generation batteries. The company plans to secure future growth engines by focusing its R&D efforts on dry electrode processes and production solutions for all-solid-state batteries. The company is also diversifying its business portfolio. Through its merger with SNU Precision, the company has expanded its business into the display equipment and inspection/measurement equipment sectors. Based on this, it has presented a blueprint to leap forward as a “multi-industry” advanced manufacturing equipment platform company that is not limited to battery equipment. A company official stated, “The name change serves as a signal to officially announce our new growth strategy and vision to the market,” adding, “We will achieve sustainable growth by further solidifying our competitiveness in the battery equipment sector while expanding our reach into the advanced manufacturing equipment sector.”
