LG Uplus announced on the 24th that it won a total of four awards, including the Instagram Daesang and the LinkedIn Special Daesang, at the “Social i-Awards 2026,” hosted by the Korea Internet Professionals Association (KIPFA) and organized by the i-Awards Committee. This marks the first time LG Uplus has taken home the Daesang at this awards ceremony.

The Social i-Awards is an event where internet experts evaluate and recognize best practices in branding, digital content, and information services utilizing social media platforms.

At this year’s ceremony, LG Uplus won the following Daesangs: △ Instagram Daesang, △ LinkedIn KIPFA Special Daesang, △ TikTok Information Service Category Daesang, and △ Newsroom Communication Category Daesang. Not only did the company secure four Daesangs for the second consecutive year, following last year’s achievement, but it also raised the level of its awards to Daesangs and Special Daesangs, setting a new record for its best performance to date.

In fact, LG Uplus’s track record of awards has shown a steep upward trend every year. Starting with one Innovation Daesang and three Category Daesangs in 2024, followed by one Integrated Daesang and three Category Daesangs in 2025, the company has achieved unparalleled communication success this year by winning the Daesang and Special Daesang back-to-back.

These achievements are the result of a comprehensive reorganization of its social media channels to prioritize the customer experience, based on the brand slogan “Simply. U+,” which was launched last year. The company was highly praised for its content strategies tailored to each channel’s characteristics, which naturally connected the brand message to customers’ daily lives.

Performance by channel was also exceptional. Instagram significantly strengthened its magazine-style feed and interactive content, resulting in a 528% year-over-year surge in total interactions (customer engagement) and earning the Daesang.

LinkedIn, which was reorganized around AI Transformation (AX) and technology leadership content, introduced a newsletter-style format, boosting average interactions by 331% year-over-year and earning the Special Daesang.

TikTok, which expanded short-form content and creator collaborations targeting younger audiences, and Newsroom, which strengthened its AI and technology content, also won the Daesang in their respective categories. In particular, Newsroom saw a massive increase in visitor numbers—up 513% year-over-year—and page views (PV), up 280%, as a result of strengthening its role as a brand content hub.

Kim Hee-jin, Head of the Brand Marketing Team at LG Uplus, stated, “This award is the result of our continuous efforts to present content that resonates with and engages our customers,” adding, “We will continue to expand brand experiences from the customer’s perspective and maintain differentiated communication across various digital channels.”
