Park Sang-jun, CEO of Medical IP, made these remarks in a recent interview with E-Daily, stating, “Our goal is not to remain merely a medical AI solutions company, but to grow into a global medical platform company based on ‘Human Digital Twins.’” The company is expanding its business scope to become a platform provider that quantifies data from medical images as digital biomarkers and links them to preventive medicine, precision medicine, and new drug development.
CEO Park Sang-jun holds a Ph.D. in Applied Radiological Life Sciences from Seoul National University. He founded Medical IP in 2015 while serving as Deputy Director of the Medical Device Innovation Center at Seoul National University Hospital. Consequently, the company began as Seoul National University Hospital’s first venture company in 2015. The company has grown based on medical imaging AI and digital twin technologies. In its early stages, the company focused on technologies for rendering and analyzing medical images—such as CT and MRI scans—in three dimensions.
Medical IP is currently preparing for a KOSDAQ listing in the first half of next year. Ahead of that, the company plans to raise funds through a pre-IPO round in the second half of this year. Recently, the company has also taken steps to enhance its management structure by appointing Park Geun-ju, former CEO of L&K Biomed, as an outside director. CEO Park explained, “As a company grows, management systems and market trust become just as important as technology,” adding, “An IPO is not merely a listing event; it is a new commitment to the market and a starting point that demands a higher level of responsibility and sustainable growth.”
The metrics the company wishes to highlight to investors go beyond just revenue scale. He emphasized, “The value of a platform company is determined not by how many products it has sold, but by how well it has established a sustainable growth structure,” adding, “I believe that the expansion of recurring revenue, global scalability, and ecosystem growth will demonstrate the company’s value.”

Bringing
Real People into the Digital Space… Focusing on “Prevention” for the Future of Healthcare
Medical IP’s core product is “DeepCatch.” DeepCatch uses AI to automatically analyze health information hidden in existing CT and X-ray images, including △ the quantity and quality of muscle and fat, △ bone density, and △ vascular calcification. CEO Park explained, “This is not merely image analysis, but a technology that quantifies an individual’s health status using hundreds of digital biomarkers,” adding, “It enables a comprehensive assessment of current health status and future disease risks without the need for additional tests, making it a core dataset for preventive medicine.”
The “Human Digital Twin” concept emphasized by Medical IP takes this a step further. It integrates an individual’s imaging data, body composition, clinical information, biosignals, and—in the future—genomic and lifestyle data to recreate a real person in a digital space. The company explains that this can support surgical simulations, medical education, and clinical decision-making, as well as personalized treatment and the prediction of treatment outcomes.
CEO Park shared his thoughts, saying, “While many people understand digital twins as simply a technology for creating 3D images, the Human Digital Twin we envision is a platform that integrates medical imaging, clinical data, biosignals, and even genomic data to recreate a real person in a digital space.” He added, “I believe the future of healthcare will shift from diagnosis to prediction, and from treatment to prevention.”
The collaboration with NVIDIA fits into this same framework. He also serves on NVIDIA’s AI Healthcare Committee. He recently attended a private meeting during NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang’s visit to South Korea. “Our collaboration with NVIDIA goes beyond a simple technical partnership or joint marketing; its significance lies in sharing a vision for the future direction of healthcare AI,” he said. “Medical IP is building human digital twins in the healthcare sector, while NVIDIA is providing the AI computing power and digital twin ecosystem needed to implement and scale them.”
Targeting the Global Market and Expanding into the SaaS Platform Business
Medical IP is shifting its business structure toward a platform-centric model. To this end, the company is expanding its subscription-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business model, centered on DeepCatch. New customers adopt the SaaS model as the standard, while existing customers are gradually transitioning to the subscription service. While broadening its customer base among health screening institutions and hospitals, the company is also strengthening OEM supply agreements and strategic partnerships with medical device companies.
The company is also ramping up its push into global markets, with the U.S. as its top priority. CEO Park explained, “The U.S. is not only the world’s largest healthcare market but also the market with the highest acceptance of medical AI and preventive care.” He added, “Based on DeepCatch, which has received FDA approval, we aim to expand into the health screening and opportunistic screening sectors and grow our SaaS platform business, focusing on hospitals and screening centers.”
In Europe, the company aims to collaborate with university hospitals and research institutions. The plan is to demonstrate the value of the Human Digital Twin through clinical research and joint development with these partners. The Middle East, India, and Southeast Asia are also viewed as key growth markets, as medical infrastructure is expanding rapidly and demand for medical AI and digital healthcare is growing. The company plans to roll out “MEDIP PRO” and “MEDIP BOX”—solutions for medical education and surgical simulation—primarily through local medical schools and surgical training centers.
He stated, “The era of AI detecting diseases is just beginning,” adding, “We do not aspire to be a company that simply creates AI; rather, we dream of being a company that enables AI to understand people.” He continued, “We will turn our company’s vision—‘Make Healthcare Predictive through Digital Twin AI’—into reality and become a company that shifts the healthcare industry’s paradigm from diagnosis to prediction, and from treatment to prevention.”
