Compared to the same period last year, revenue increased by 6.1% and operating profit by 1.1%.
Revenue from LG Corp.’s core growth drivers—the artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud businesses—totaled 1.6714 trillion won in the first half of the year, a 5.1% increase compared to the same period last year. These businesses accounted for approximately 59% of total revenue.
In the cloud sector, the company continued to see strong results from its external data center business. As the AI data center market is restructuring around Design, Build, and Operate (DBO) capabilities, LG CNS is generating revenue from hyperscale AI data center projects such as those in Samsong and Jukjeon.
LG CNS secured large-scale DBO projects worth over 1 trillion won in the first half of the year. The company also unveiled its modular AI data center, a new DBO business model, and recently launched “XPUWorks,” a platform that allows customers to subscribe to AI infrastructure such as graphics processing units (GPUs) and neural processing units (NPUs).
In the AI sector, the company has strengthened its AI Transformation (AX) initiatives for manufacturing and logistics by targeting external clients such as DOOSAN, the Korea Federation of SMEs, Kurly, and LX Pantos. It is also expanding its industry portfolio to include pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, airports and aviation, and defense and shipbuilding.
In the financial and public sectors, the company is creating customer business innovation cases based on its Agentik AI platform, “Agentik Works.” It is also expanding collaborations with global AI companies such as OpenAI, Palantir, and Anthropic.
Revenue from the Smart Engineering business in the first half of the year reached 502.4 billion won, a 6.2% increase compared to the same period last year. In the Smart Factory business, revenue is being generated not only from affiliate-based sales but also from external projects in the defense, shipbuilding, semiconductor, and pharmaceutical sectors.
LG CNS is driving the intelligent transformation of domestic and international manufacturing plants centered on its AI smart factory solution, “Factoba.” In the Smart Logistics business, revenue grew as projects to build automated logistics centers for external clients in the beauty, food, and fashion sectors progressed smoothly.
Revenue for the Digital Business Services segment in the first half of the year reached 662.1 billion won, an 8.8% increase compared to the same period last year. Growth was steady across the entire financial sector—including banking, property and casualty insurance, and life insurance—and collaboration with global financial clients also expanded.
LG Corp. plans to expand its Physical AI business in the second half of the year. Based on the robot learning and operation platform “PhysicalWorks” and industry-specific Robot Foundation Models (RFMs), the company will strengthen the training of humanoid robots and the validation of their on-site applications.
To this end, the company is also pursuing collaboration at the LG Corp. level. LG CNS recently signed a Physical AI infrastructure contract worth approximately 190 billion won with LGELECTRONICS. LG CNS will be responsible for LGELECTRONICS’ proof of concept (PoC) for humanoid robot training, as well as the supply of the PhysicalWorks platform and GPU-based AI infrastructure.
LG Corp. is also expanding its Robot Transformation (RX) ecosystem by partnering with robotics companies such as Skilled AI, Config, DexMate, and Genesis AI. The plan is to accelerate the commercialization of robots by optimizing models—from general-purpose RFMs to robot-hand RFMs—for industrial settings.
The company is also expanding its global business. The AI data center in Indonesia—the first such project secured by LG Corp. as a Korean company—is scheduled for completion in the second half of the year. In the second half, LG Corp. will participate in “IMTS 2026,” a machine tool exhibition held in Chicago, to strengthen its push into the North American manufacturing AX market.
