[E-Daily Reporter JAEMIN SONG ] SAMSUNG SDI CO.,LTD., LGELECTRONICS, and LS Cable showcased their battery, cooling, and power supply technologies side by side at Asia’s largest data center exhibition. As power consumption and heat generation surge due to the increasing performance of artificial intelligence (AI) servers, competition to secure a leading position in the infrastructure market—which supports the stable operation of data centers—is intensifying.

According to industry sources on the 29th, these companies participated in “Data Center World Asia (DCWA) 2026,” held in Singapore from the 29th through the 30th. DCWA is Asia’s largest specialized exhibition covering the entire ecosystem of data centers, from design and construction to operation and management.

Participating in the event for the first time, SAMSUNG SDI CO.,LTD. set up four exhibition zones featuring uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), battery backup units (BBU), Samsung Battery Boxes (SBB), and battery cells. The company highlighted its UPS battery solutions, which met all standards in large-scale indoor fire tests conducted by the global safety certification body UL Solutions.

The company also unveiled high-power, high-capacity ternary cylindrical batteries developed for emergency power in AI data centers, as well as next-generation cylindrical lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. This marks the first time the company has publicly showcased its cylindrical LFP batteries. It also exhibited prismatic LFP batteries designed for the “SBB 2.0,” an integrated energy storage system (ESS).

LGELECTRONICS unveiled its “Hydronic Modular” cooling solution for the first time, which reduces construction time and the burden of initial investment. This system involves pre-assembling pumps, valves, piping, and emergency buffer tanks into International Organization for Standardization (ISO)-compliant containers, which are then connected to chillers on-site. Modules can be added as needed to accommodate server expansion.

The company also showcased 1-megawatt (MW) and 2.6-MW cooling water distribution units (CDUs) that have received quality certification from NVIDIA, as well as air-cooled turbo chillers and fan wall units. It also proposed the “One LG” integrated solution, which combines LG Energy Solution’s data center batteries with LG CNS’s modular data centers.

LS Cable highlighted its “From Grid to Rack” strategy, which connects the data center power grid all the way to the interior of server racks. Following the introduction of bus ducts that deliver high-capacity power close to server racks, the company unveiled new busbars and connectors designed to distribute and connect power within the racks.

The company also exhibited optical cables that support inter-data-center connectivity and internal data transmission. Its affiliate, LS Materials Co.,Ltd., showcased ultra-capacitors (UCs) designed to respond to sudden power fluctuations. Next-generation technologies, such as direct current (DC) bus ducts and superconducting power systems for supplying high-capacity power in confined spaces, were also introduced.

The industry anticipates that as AI data centers become more high-density and larger in scale, the importance of power supply, emergency power, and thermal management will grow accordingly. Korean companies are also expanding their business scope beyond the supply of individual products to encompass the integrated infrastructure market, which covers the entire process of data center construction and operation.
