[Edaily Reporter SOYEON KIM ] SamsungElectronics announced on the 13th that it will send coffee trucks and host a “Movie Day” event for employees and their families at partner companies to express its gratitude to approximately 58,000 employees of its semiconductor partners.

Starting this month, SamsungElectronics will operate “Win-Win Cafés”—featuring coffee trucks—at the business sites of major partners for two months, and in December, it will host “Movie Day” events for partner employees and their families.

SamsungElectronics began its “Win-Win Café” initiative on the 6th by visiting major semiconductor partners and operating coffee trucks in outdoor areas of their facilities. The initiative is aimed at conveying support and encouragement to approximately 27,000 employees from 67 key procurement partners—with whom Samsung has grown alongside as long-term partners—amid their busy work schedules.

On the first day of the event, the coffee truck visited DaeduckElectronics and Saesol Diamond Industry, and on the 7th, it visited TLB Co., Ltd. and PSK INC. The coffee truck provided beverages and snacks, and a lucky draw event was also held. There was also time for executives from SamsungElectronics to meet and communicate with representatives from each partner company.

Woo Hyung-dong, Senior Vice President of the Win-Win Cooperation Team at SamsungElectronics’ Device Solutions (DS) Division, stated, “SamsungElectronics’ unwavering competitiveness in the global semiconductor market is thanks to the dedication of all employees at our partner companies,” adding, “We will continue to grow together based on deep trust.”

Shin Young-hwan, CEO of DaeduckElectronics, remarked, “Amid our busy work schedules, this was a moment for employees from both companies to take a brief break to encourage one another for their hard work and reflect on the meaning of our partnership.” He added, “We will continue to grow together with SamsungElectronics through communication and cooperation.” An employee from Saesol Diamond Industries who participated in the coffee truck event shared, “I think all the employees—both at SamsungElectronics and our partner companies—who are working hard in their respective roles for the semiconductor industry are truly remarkable. Through the experience of seeing our individual technologies and efforts combine to produce excellent results, I have come to deeply appreciate the importance of collaboration.”

Cho Seung-geon, President of TLB Co., Ltd., said, “The expert training and financial support provided by SamsungElectronics have been a great help in enhancing our quality competitiveness, improving yield rates, and boosting productivity,” adding, “We will continue to repay this support with excellent quality and performance.”

SamsungElectronics also hosts a “Movie Day” event at the end of the year to invite the families of its partners. From December 21 to 23, the company plans to provide movie tickets to approximately 30,000 employees and their families from about 160 local partner companies at theaters near its semiconductor facilities (Giheung, Hwaseong, Pyeongtaek, and Cheonan).

SamsungElectronics provides “safety incentives” to outstanding suppliers every half-year to prevent workplace accidents and improve work quality, having disbursed 47.8 billion won in the first half of this year. Additionally, to strengthen suppliers’ safety capabilities, the company operates “Environmental Safety Academies” at its three sites in Pyeongtaek, Giheung, and Onyang. The Environmental Safety Academy offers a total of 25 courses, ranging from mandatory environmental and safety training to risk assessments at manufacturing sites, response to fire and chemical accidents, and emergency procedures.

During this year’s Chuseok holiday, SamsungElectronics also distributed approximately 2.55 billion won in “Chuseok holiday bonuses” to 68 partner companies in the general affairs and security sectors. Furthermore, to help partner company employees and their families recharge, the company provided admission tickets to Everland and Caribbean Bay, along with gifts, to approximately 6,400 people from 172 partner companies for a total of 10 days in May, including Children’s Day.

Furthermore, SamsungElectronics operates various shared growth programs to ensure continued mutual growth with partners who have collaborated with the company in the semiconductor industry for many years. The company is implementing a multifaceted approach that includes: △ financial support to assist with performance-based compensation and cash flow; △ initiatives to improve the working environment and infrastructure for employees at on-site partner companies; △ activities to support the well-being and leisure time of partner company employees; and △ initiatives to enhance semiconductor technology competitiveness and ESG capabilities.
