[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] Approximately 900 people applied for the Physical AI Robotics Training Program organized by NVIDIA, resulting in a competition ratio of 15 to 1. This hands-on course applies robotics skills learned through virtual simulations to actual humanoid robots, with the goal of training professionals needed for robot development and operation.
Robotics company XYZ announced on the 13th that it had launched the “Physical AI Robotics Training Course” on the 12th at the XYZ Academy inside the Seongsu CF Tower in Seongsu-dong, Seoul.

Approximately 900 people applied for this program, and about 60 were selected. The training will run for about six months until April 2027. The total training duration is 960 hours, with 760 hours allocated to hands-on training.
Trainees will learn about the robot simulation platform “Isaac Sim” and the robot learning framework “Isaac Lab” through NVIDIA’s official training program, the Deep Learning Institute (DLI). They will then carry out a project applying the skills they’ve learned to XYZ’s bipedal humanoid robot, “DEUX.”
A key feature of the program is that trainees do not merely learn robot movements in a simulation environment but also experience the process of implementing them on actual robots. Trainees identify the differences between virtual and real-world work environments and build the ability to apply the skills they have learned to real-world tasks.
The training venue, Seongsu CF Tower, is a robot-friendly space established under the Seoul Business Agency’s (SBA) Smart Robot Zone support program. Equipped with XY’s integrated robot building solution, it features barista robots and delivery robots providing actual services. Trainees can observe robots operating in everyday settings, gaining insight into the technology’s practical applications as well as the challenges that arise during operation.
XY, which is participating in the training program, is a physical AI company co-founded in 2020 by CEO Hwang Seong-jae. CEO Hwang previously co-founded Plenty, an AI-based smartphone keyboard startup, which was acquired by SamsungElectronics(005930)in 2015. After serving as a founding partner of FuturePlay, a technology-based startup accelerator, he entered the robotics business.
XYZ is developing robot hardware, behavioral intelligence models, and operational infrastructure in tandem. While developing the two-armed humanoid “Dus,” the barista robot “BarisBrew,” and autonomous delivery robots, the company is also operating robots in real-world service environments, such as robot cafes.
An XYZ representative stated, “In the field of physical AI, there is growing corporate demand for personnel who have experience with both simulation and real robots,” adding, “We will provide training that allows participants to gain hands-on experience—from learning to applying humanoid technology—in spaces where robots are actually in operation.”
