[Edaily Reporter Kwon Oh Seok ] #Acryl Inc., a company specializing in Artificial Intelligence Transformation (AX) infrastructure, announced on the 13th that government officials, including Lee Do-kyu, Director General of the Information and Communications Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Science and ICT (hereinafter MSIT), visited the company to review the current status of Physical AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology development and the on-site demonstration plans for the Jeonbuk national project. The site visit, which took place on the 30th of last month, was organized to directly review the progress of companies participating in the government-funded Physical AI research and development (R&D) project and to discuss strategies for the localization of AI models and infrastructure operation software, as well as their expansion into the industrial and medical sectors. During the visit, Acryl Inc. presented its achievements in operating large-scale AI infrastructure and cloud validation through its GPU operating platform “GPUBASE,” as well as △the status of integration with domestically developed NPUs △achievements in its medical AI business △the development direction of the Physical AI platform “Jonathan.PAI” and its role within the Jeonbuk national project. Based on GPUBASE, Acryl Inc. has validated its performance in large-scale task processing, heterogeneous GPU resource allocation, and communication optimization across major global cloud platforms—including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)—as well as seven types of GPU environments. Additionally, the company has completed interoperability testing with Rebellion AI Semiconductor and is currently developing and optimizing an NPU-based integrated solution with FuriosaAI. Building on this expertise in AI infrastructure operations, the company is expanding its business into the field of Physical AI. Since Physical AI involves linking AI decisions to the physical movements of robots, it requires technology that integrates control not only of model performance but also of computational resource management, inference response times, and task coordination among robots. Currently, Acryl Inc. is participating in a project led by Sungkyunkwan University as part of the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA)’s “Creation of an R&D Ecosystem for a Collaborative Intelligence Physical AI-Based Software Platform” initiative (the Jeonbuk Physical AI National Project). The company is responsible for the training and inference of VLA (Vision-Language-Action) models, connecting heterogeneous robots, establishing collaborative procedures and data transmission systems, and collecting field operation data. This project involves extensive participation from academia, industry, and medical institutions—including Sungkyunkwan University, KAIST, Seoul National University, Rainbow Robotics, HYUNDAI WIA, and Wonkwang University Hospital—to conduct field demonstrations. Park Oe-jin, CEO of Acryl Inc., “This visit was a meaningful opportunity to share Acryl Inc.’s strategy for expanding our AI infrastructure operation technology and medical AI capabilities into the Physical AI sector, in line with the government’s policy direction for Physical AI field demonstrations,” he said. “We will successfully complete the Jeonbuk national project to integrate AI models, computing infrastructure, and heterogeneous robots, and through industrial and medical field demonstrations, we will simultaneously secure the technological competitiveness and commercialization foundation for domestically developed Physical AI,” he emphasized.
