[Edaily Reporter An Yu-ri ] A survey has found that PearlAbyss Corp.(263750)’s open-world action-adventure game “Crimson Desert” recorded the highest Steam sales among new IPs (intellectual property) released in 2026.
According to a report recently released by global market research firm “Alinea Analytics,” *Crimson Desert* has generated over $190 million in revenue on Steam since its launch last March.
Among games released on Steam in 2026, it ranked third in revenue, following “Forza Horizon 6” and “Resident Evil: Requiem.” Crimson Desert is the only new IP among the top five highest-grossing titles.
Alinea Analytics noted that most of the top-ranking games are sequels to existing franchises, stating, “Red Desert’s achievements as a new IP are all the more significant.”
Red Desert sold 2 million copies within a day of its release, 5 million copies in less than a month, and reached 6 million copies in just 83 days. It is widely regarded as having proven its competitiveness in the global console market thanks to its proprietary game engine, the “BlackSpace Engine.”
