[Edaily Reporter NA EUN-KYUNG ] Hanmi Science(008930)announced on the 28th that it recorded consolidated revenue of 367.9 billion won and operating profit of 59.1 billion won for the second quarter of this year. Compared to the same period last year, revenue increased by 8.7% and operating profit rose by 70.9%. Net income rose 54.2% to 43.7 billion won.

Cumulative revenue for the first half of the year reached 721.6 billion won, a 7.6% increase compared to the same period last year. Operating profit stood at 92.7 billion won, and net income at 86.0 billion won, continuing the upward trend.

These results are attributed to the growth of Onlinepharm, the company’s pharmaceutical distribution subsidiary, and its in-house healthcare business. Onlinepharm recorded second-quarter revenue of 305.7 billion won, driven by the expansion of its distribution of prescription drugs (ETC). Profitability also improved, partly reflecting HanmiPharm’s technology export achievements.

Hanmi Science is expanding its own healthcare business while fulfilling its role as a holding company. Its strategy is to secure new growth engines by broadening its business portfolio to include medical devices, health functional foods, food products, and cosmetics.

Recently, the company strengthened its consumer business by launching the health functional food brand “NPLE” and the dermocosmetic brand “ADESII.” Dermocosmetics refers to functional cosmetics that combine dermatology and cosmetics.

Kim Jae-kyo, CEO of Hanmi Science, stated, “The steady growth of our core subsidiaries and our efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of our own businesses have led to stable performance,” adding, “We will continue to expand synergies among our affiliates and consistently strengthen our healthcare business portfolio.”
