[Edaily Reporter KIM JI-WAN ] VC Inc.(365900), the manufacturer of the "VoiceCaddie" golf rangefinder, announced that it successfully returned to profitability by posting an operating profit of 2.1 billion won in the second quarter of 2026.

On a consolidated basis for the second quarter of 2026, the company reported revenue of 17.45 billion won, operating profit of 2.1 billion won, and net income of 1.67 billion won.

Driven by 4.1 billion won in new revenue from ODM sales to overseas clients and a 35% year-over-year increase in sales of watch-style rangefinders featuring the company’s unique APL (Auto Pin Location) service in the domestic market, revenue rose 41.2% compared to the previous quarter, and both operating profit and net income returned to the black.

As a result, VC Inc. achieved cumulative revenue of 28.3 billion won, operating profit of 1.6 billion won, and net income of 1.1 billion won for the first half of 2026. Domestic revenue for the first half rose 13% year-over-year to 15.8 billion won, while overseas revenue increased 40% to 12.4 billion won, highlighting strong growth in overseas markets. Regarding operating profit for the first half, the company posted a loss of 500 million won in the first quarter of 2026 but generated a profit of 2.1 billion won in the second quarter alone, driving the company back into the black for the first half.

This positive performance trend is expected to continue in the second half of the year. The cumulative value of purchase orders (POs) from VC Inc.’s overseas clients recently exceeded 8 billion won, and approximately 4 billion won in additional revenue is expected in the second half alone. The cumulative POs of 8 billion won represent about 17% of VC Inc.’s revenue (approximately 46.9 billion won) as reported in its consolidated financial statements at the end of 2025.

In particular, having secured forecast order volumes for 2027 that exceed this year’s levels, the company’s mid- to long-term overseas revenue growth is expected to accelerate. These large-scale orders are interpreted as evidence that VC Inc.’s technological capabilities in its core areas—such as golf rangefinders and launch monitors—have established a competitive edge in the global market.

Meanwhile, VC Inc. is also actively pursuing the expansion of its independently developed ultra-high-precision APL service into overseas golf courses. APL is an innovative technology that tracks and displays the pin position on the green in real time; the company plans to build on its success in the domestic market to expand its reach into the overseas golf course infrastructure market. To this end, with the goal of an official launch this September, the company has signed a contract with “Technocraft,” Japan’s leading local course management company, and is pursuing a partnership for pin data integration. It is also accelerating its global expansion by commencing a Proof of Concept (PoC) for APL technology in the U.S. market.

Additionally, the company is preparing to launch “Smart Glasses” for golf as part of its new product lineup in the second half of the year. By combining VC Inc.’s unique “VoiceCaddie” golf data and distance-measuring algorithms with its proprietary deep-learning-based interactive AI voice guide (integrated with TTS), the company plans to provide a complete hands-free round experience that engages both sight and hearing.

A VC Inc. official stated, “VC Inc. has already secured a firm market dominance in the domestic market with its irreplaceable technological capabilities,” adding, “We expect that, starting this year, more than half of VC Inc.’s total revenue will come from global exports, driven by new ODM revenue growth overseas.” The official continued, “Based on APL’s unrivaled technological capabilities, we are moving to expand our presence in the U.S. and Japanese markets, and we will achieve a full-scale turnaround in performance through the launch of our new smart glasses.”
