The company plans to establish a world-class information security system that customers can trust by incorporating the perspectives of objective external experts.

KTCorporation announced on the 12th that it has launched an “Information Security Advisory Committee” to respond to the rapidly changing security landscape and strengthen its information security governance with a focus on proactive prevention.

The newly launched Information Security Advisory Committee is composed of Korea’s top experts spanning the fields of policy and systems, technology and security, industry and services, and AI and Zero Trust.

The inaugural advisory committee members include: △Park Chun-sik, Director of the Korea Zero Trust Security Association; △Jeong Eun-soo, Professor of Digital Security at Cheongju University; △Kwak Jin, Professor of Cybersecurity at Ajou University; △Yoon Myeong-geun, Professor of Artificial Intelligence at Kookmin University; △Kim Hong-seon, Counselor at Kim & Jang Law Firm; △Park Cheol-jun, Professor of Computer Engineering at Kyung Hee University; and △Choi Gwang-hee, Counselor at Sejong Law Firm.

The Advisory Committee plans to provide comprehensive advice to strengthen the formulation and execution of KTCorporation’s mid- to long-term information security strategies. Key areas of consultation include the following:

These include responding to future security threats, establishing next-generation security systems, and reviewing global compliance matters such as the Information and Communications Network Act. Specifically, the committee will work to develop strategies to counter the misuse of generative AI and AI-based cyberattacks.

In particular, considering a business environment where the spread of AI and the shift to the cloud are gaining momentum, KT plans to focus on securing the capacity to respond to future threats in key areas such as AI, cloud, and network security, and on establishing a Zero Trust-based security framework.

With the establishment of this new committee, the KTCorporation has completed a specialized governance framework centered on the two pillars of “information security” and “personal information protection.”

While the “Personal Information Protection Advisory Committee,” established in the first half of the year, provides policy-focused advice on the appropriateness of data use and the prevention of data breaches, the newly formed “Information Security Advisory Committee” is responsible for the company-wide information security strategy and technology as a whole, including AI security, technological innovation, and incident response. This strategy aims to maximize synergy by separating these specialized areas.
