[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] The Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Yoon Yeo-jun) announced that it is partnering with “KakaoMakers,” the social value commerce platform operated by Kakao(035720)(CEO Jeong Shin-ah), to hold a vote on the design for its sixth collaboration badge. This collaboration will feature the beloved national character “Chun-sik” to spread the warmth of neighborly love during the year-end season.

The design vote will take place on the KakaoMakers platform from the 28th of this month through the 3rd of next month. Among three Christmas-themed design candidates—which combine the popular Kakao Friends character “Chun-sik” with the Fruits of Love symbol—the design that receives the most votes from consumers will be produced as the final product.

The selected badge will be sold in a limited run of 10,000 pieces for two weeks, from December 7 to 20.

This collaborative badge project between the two companies has been an iconic model of mutual growth and sharing, continuing annually since 2021. Throughout this time, all proceeds from sales have been generously donated to support marginalized groups in our society. Starting with the provision of heating mats for shantytown residents in the first year, the initiative has provided tangible assistance year after year—including rice donations for grandparent-headed households and laptop donations for youth preparing for independence and young caregivers.

This year, marking the sixth iteration of the project, the companies plan to use all proceeds from sales to provide rice to elderly people living alone and single-parent families. Kakao Makers will also donate winter supplies—including blankets and fleece clothing produced in-house—to further expand the scope of support and ensure that neighbors in need can stay warm during the cold winter months.
