[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyung-wook ] HANKOOK TIRE & TECHNOLOGY announced on the 25th that it will supply its “Ion Evo SUV”—a tire designed specifically for electric vehicles—as original equipment (OE) for the “Polestar 4,” a fully electric performance SUV coupe from the global electric vehicle brand Polestar.

This marks the first time Hankook Tire has supplied original equipment (OE) tires to Polestar.

The ION EVO SUV features a specialized design engineered to handle the high vehicle weight and instant torque characteristic of electric vehicles. It incorporates features such as low noise, mileage, traction, and low rolling resistance, and includes an aramid hybrid reinforcement belt to enhance high-speed stability. The sizes supplied for the Polestar 4 are 255/50R20 and 255/45R21.

Hankook Tire currently supplies original equipment tires for electric vehicle models from Porsche, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Lucid Motors, and Cupra, among others.

A Hankook Tire spokesperson stated, “Based on our new partnership with Polestar, we plan to expand our global supply of tires for electric vehicles.”
