[Edaily Reporter Kwon Oh Seok ] EQCell, a subsidiary of Hyulim ROBOT Co.,Ltd.(090710), announced on the 20th that it has successfully secured an order worth approximately 9.3 billion won (about $7 million) for NPS (New Plasma Source System) equipment—a key component of the mass production line for next-generation “perovskite solar cells”—from Company C, a global leader in batteries and energy.

The NPS equipment secured in this order is essential process equipment for forming “transparent conductive oxide (TCO),” a key component that allows electricity to flow while transmitting light through the surface of perovskite solar cells. It will be manufactured to meet Company C’s strict specifications using custom-sized, extra-large glass panels, and the company plans to complete delivery and on-site setup by the first half of 2027.
In particular, this achievement is said to hold significant technical importance as it involves supplying the world’s largest mass-production line equipment, exceeding the current maximum size (1,200 × 2,400 mm) that can be manufactured in the global industry.
Until now, the perovskite cell manufacturing process has faced significant challenges in developing mass-production equipment due to a critical limitation: material damage caused by high temperatures and plasma collisions. iQCell Co., Ltd. resolved this issue by applying reactive plasma deposition (RPD) technology to its NPS equipment.
An iQCell official emphasized, “We have secured ‘cutting-edge’ equipment technology that uniformly deposits high-density transparent electrodes while minimizing material damage in a low-temperature environment. We have surpassed the limitations of existing large-area deposition and verified the reliability of our equipment at the manufacturing sites of top-tier global companies.”
Previously, the company demonstrated process stability and mass production yield over a four-year period by successively supplying equipment—starting with a pilot line in 2022, followed by the first R&D line in 2023, and the second R&D line in 2024. As a result, it was ultimately selected this year as the key equipment supplier for full-scale commercial mass production lines, and the company expects to secure additional orders in the future as its customers expand their facilities.
An eQcell official added, “We will successfully complete on-site setup in the first half of 2027 and, building on our overwhelming global mass production track record, firmly secure a leading position in the next-generation solar cell process equipment market, which has emerged as a key component of power supply in the AI era.”
