According to MP Doctor, as of 9:37 a.m. today, SK hynix(000660)is trading at 1,363,000 won, up 88,000 won (+6.90%) from the previous trading day, while SamsungElectronics(005930)is trading at 223,750 won, up 10,750 won (+5.05%).

SKSQUARE(402340), which tracks SK hynix’s stock price, is also trading at 852,000 won, up 83,000 won (+10.79%).

The warmth is spreading across the entire domestic semiconductor value chain. SamsungElectroMechanics(009150)(+8.41%), DaeduckElectronics(353200)(+11.11%), and HANMISemiconductorCO.,Ltd.(042700)(+5.43%) are also showing strength.

The sharp rise in the stock price is attributed to Anthropic’s filing of a registration statement for its initial public offering (IPO) with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on the 26th (local time), in which it disclosed overwhelming financial results.

Anthropic’s revenue for the first half of this year reached $16.286 billion (approximately 21.6 trillion won), surging by about 1,300% compared to the same period last year. Operating losses also narrowed by 68%, from $2.14 billion to $693 million; notably, the company posted an operating profit of $974 million in the second quarter, successfully turning a profit on a quarterly basis.

As concerns over AI monetization subside, investor sentiment toward the semiconductor supply chain as a whole appears to be improving rapidly.

Consequently, on the New York Stock Exchange last night, semiconductor stocks closed higher across the board, including SK hynix ADRs (+4.09%), Intel (+4.04%), Micron (+2.98%), AMD (+2.80%), NVIDIA (+2.39%), and Broadcom (+2.33%).
